GENERAL INFORMATION

Dickie is a best-selling and award winning author, born in Detroit, Michigan and now living in California. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, Dickie began a law career devoted to representing the elderly and disadvantaged.

The hypocrisy and incomprehensible system of slavery, and the plantations that benefitted, became something of an obsession and a story that needed to be told.

The inhumanity of slavery is incredulous. It's glossed over in our schools, and washes over our heads with only passing mention. That bell (slavery) can't be un-rung, but I believe the real stories, often horrific, should be told in the hope that history won't repeat itself.
